The accelerated aging chamber (QUV Accelerated Weathering Tester) or artificial aging chamber allows to study and predict how different materials (wood, coatings, paints, plastics, etc.) will change as a result of the aging process. These types of tests are important for predicting how the material will behave in outdoor conditions, but allowing the result to be obtained much faster - within a few days or weeks, the equipment can reproduce damage that occurs over several months or years. The device is capable of simulating the UV region of solar radiation (the main cause of photodegradation of materials), precipitation and dew. The machine is ideally suited to relatively quickly check and optimize the type and content of additives required in the material. The Institute has two such chambers. Some relevant European standards: ISO 11507, ISO 4892-3, EN 13523-10, GB/T 23983, GB/T 30669, GB/T 31881, etc.
