Laura Andže speaking on Radio SWH

On 11 January this year, on Radio SWH's programme "Mind Will Save the World", host Ieva Siliņa interviewed Laura Andže, a leading researcher at the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry's Cellulose Laboratory, and Sergejs Gaidukovs, a tenure-track professor at Riga Technical University, about the use of wood and wood products.

The programme focused on innovations made in Latvia from wood. Laura introduced the history of the use of wood, explained the chemical composition of wood, and talked about the various research activities carried out at LSIWC.

Laura stressed that wood is Latvia's green oil or green gold, and highlighted the breadth of possibilities for using wood.

"Mind Will Save the World" is broadcast every Saturday at 12:00 on Radio SWH with a repeat on Sundays at 20:00. You can listen to the recording with Laura on Spotify
