At the Plenary assembly of the LSIWC scientists on March 9, 2023 :

1. Amendments to the Statutes of the Scientific Council of the LSIWC has been adopted:

LAS Yearbook 2022 - LSIWC research on wood protection

The information about LSIWC research on wood protection was included in THE LATVIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES YEARBOOK 2022. The article give overview about LSIWC Laboratory of Wood Biodegradation and Protection: its history, performed research and realised projects, equipment and methods, cooperation with industry and contribution in preservation of cultural heritage objects.

LAS Yearbook 2022 - Commercialisation of LSIWC research results

The information about succesful commercialisation of research results was included in THE LATVIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES YEARBOOK 2022 (section: Commercialisation of knowledge). The study about obtaining of betulin, development and scaling of its technology and has been done in cooperation between leading researchers of LSIWC Aigars Pāže and Jānis Rižikovs and specialists of JSC "Latvijas Finieris" Inguss Virsis un Kristaps Stankuss.

Conference BTechPro!2022, 27-29.04.2022

On 27-29 April this year, the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry held the International Conference for Young Scientists on Biorefinery Technologies and Products ''BTechPro!2022''. The conference was attended by more than 50 participants from nine countries. The participants visited the laboratories of the institute, took part in workshops, presented their research and made new contacts during the social activities.

The Student Council of LSIWC was founded on January 14, 2022
