On 26 November, the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry hosted a seminar on artificial intelligence (AI). Guest speaker Oskars Teikmanis introduced the LSIWC staff to the world of semantics, explaining what large language models are, and answered questions from the LSIWC staff.

One of the most relevant themes related to the use of MI tools was responsibility and safety when using them in a professional context.

Oskars Teikmanis shared his experience and introduced the audience to various MI programmes for specific purposes, and demonstrated an interactive example of pore size characterisation of porous materials based on SEM images.
