Opportunity for students to participate in the Bio-Based Innovation Challenge Europe BISC-E 2024

Students of Latvian universities are welcome to participate in the international competition Bio-Based Innovation Challenge Europe BISC-E 2024. BISC-E is an annual event organised by Bio-Based Industries Consortium. Its aim is to award excellent students who are working in the field of bio-economy and who are ready to actively, creatively, and smartly tackle the technological challenges faced by modern society.

BISC-E competition student teams must present their innovation – an environmentally friendly, sustainable product or technology. You can see the previous BISC-E finalists here.

The organizer of the national BISC-E competition is the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry. Participants are invited to register their teams until November 27, by e-mailing the national contact Uģim Cābulim. For registration, an application needs to be written including the title of the team, names of the participants and the supervisor, and an abstract about the innovations up to 150 words in English. Afterward, the teams will prepare a full description of their innovations and present them at the national final which will take place during the BTechPro2024 conference BTechPro2024 on April 26, 2024. During the national final a jury will choose a winner to claim the prize and a chance to participate at the European final.
