Arvīda Kalniņa Award, issued by the Latvian Academy of Sciences awarded to leading researcher Dr. Bruno Andersons

Leading Researcher, Head of the Laboratory of Wood Biodegradation and Protection, Dr.chem. Bruno Andersons, has received the Arvīda Kalniņa Award, issued by the Latvian Academy of Sciences.
We celebrate Bruno Andersons' significant contribution to the scienific field of characterisation, modification and use of wood as a sustainable material. Bruno is a valued colleague at the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, excellent researcher with more than 200 publications, and a member of many national and international associations and networks.
It is especially poetic to receive this award in 2024, which is the year of the 130th jubilee of Professor Arvīds Kalniņš who was an active participant in the bustling developments of wood science in the 1920s, and the founder and the first director of the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry.
