JSC "Latvijas Finieris" event "Zaļā klase 2024" in Sarkaņkalns

On September 5, 2024, the Student Council of the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry participated in the educational event "Zaļā klase" (Green class) organized by JSC "Latvijas Finieris". Throughout the day, young people had the opportunity to learn about the forest, the trees and animals found in it, the sustainable management of these natural resources ​​and wood export products, which form the basis of Latvia's national economy. The students could explore and try forest fire protection, forest management and agricultural techniques, learn about career opportunities related to the forest industry, take the first steps in learning national protection processes, as well as learn how to plant their own tree.

"Zaļā klase 2024" was attended by more than 1,500 students from 32 schools.
