European Researchers' Night 2024

The European Researchers' Night 2024, which took place on September 27, was held with a record number of participants. 336  people visited the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, where they got to know our scientists and our research work, as well as participated in various tasks. On the whole, more than 21,000 people attended the Researchers'' Night events in Latvia.

This year, the Researchers' Night was up-graded by cooperation with the companies AS "Latvijas Finieris" and AS "Latvijas Valsts meži", which took part in informing the public about forestry and wood product processing issues with their stands in the LSIWC pilot equipment hangar. Also, there was cooperation with the neighboring Institute of Electronics and Computer Sciences, with which tasks for the visitors of the event were jointly created. To bring to life the slogan of this year's Researchers' Night "Meet your scientist!", a panel discussion was held at LSIWC, where 4 young scientists - Aigars Pāže, Laura Andže, Miķelis Kirpļuks and Kristīne Meile - told their science stories. The moderator of the discussion was Daniela Godiņa.
