Defense of PhD thesis by Daniela Godiņa

Congratulations to the Biorefinery Laboratory researcher Daniela Godiņa on obtaining a PhD degree!

On February 21, 2024, at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Academic Center of Natural Sciences of the University of Latvia, Daniela Godiņa excellently defended her doctoral thesis "Characterization of biomass valorization products and process optimization of birch growing in Latvia (Betula pendula)". 

The work includes nine scientific publications that comprehensively describe the processing of various parts of birch into valuable products. Daniela's analytical contribution to biorefining processes opens up new opportunities to explore and maximize the use of local resources, promoting the implementation of bioeconomy in practice.
