Daniela Godiņa at the forum "Green Transition: Policy, the Forestry Sector, and Innovation in the Digital Age"

On April 10, the LMT Group hosted a high-level expert forum titled "Green Transformation: Policy, the Forestry Sector, and Innovation in the Digital Age," which brought together policymakers, industry representatives, and innovation leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges of sustainable development.

The forum is organized by the association “Latvijas Formula 2050” and the LMT Group in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Climate and Energy, AS “Latvijas valsts meži”, the Latvian Wood Industry Federation, and AS “Latvijas Finieris”.

Daniela Godiņa, a researcher at the Biorefinery Laboratory of the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, participated in a panel discussion on the topic "How to develop climate and nature conservation policies and regulations that achieve their goals without undermining the foundations of the economy."

The panel discussion was moderated by Gatis Ķepītis, Development Project Manager at AS “Latvijas Finieris”. Other participants in the panel discussion included Āris Jansons, Director of the Forestry Department at the Ministry of Agriculture; Arnis Muižnieks, Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Forest Owners’ Association; Laura Anteina, Director General of the Nature Conservation Agency; and Jānis Baiks, Chairman of the Valmiera District Council and Vice Chairman of the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments.

The discussion made it particularly clear that the green transition is not merely a matter of policy or regulation—it is the ability to bring together science, industry, and decision-making into a single system.
