On April 15, a representative of the company “Niedrāji MR,” Kristaps Pete, visited the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry. During the visit, he met with our researchers Dr.sc.ing. Jānis Rižikovs, Dr. sc. ing. Māris Puķe, Dr. sc. ing. Prans Brazdausks un Dr. sc. ing. Juris Grīniņš to discuss opportunities for wood biorefining and its application in the company’s production processes.

SIA “Niedrāji MR” is one of the largest forestry companies in the Kurzeme region, operating for over 20 years. The company specializes in logging, pallet board production, metalworking, and timber transportation.
“Niedrāji MR” offers a full forestry cycle — from tree felling with harvesters to timber forwarding with forwarders and transportation with logging trucks. The company also carries out forest regeneration and thinning, ensuring sustainable forest management.
In its pallet board production facility, the company manufactures boards in various dimensions and offers anti-blue stain treatment.
