Abstract submission is now open for the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Northern European Network for Wood Science and Engineering (WSE 2026), , which will take place on 15–16 September 2026 in Riga, Latvia. One day prior to the conference, on 14 September, a training course for PhD students and early career researchers will be organised.
The conference is organised by the Northern European Network for Wood Science and Engineering, with the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry and Riga Technical University serving as local organisers. The training school is organised in cooperation with, the Latvian State Forest Research Institute “Silava”, the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research, and the Norwegian Institute of Wood Technology.
“For many years, the WSE conference has been an important platform for the professional development of early career researchers and for international collaboration in wood science. We are pleased to host this event in Riga in 2026 and invite researchers to actively contribute to shaping the scientific programme. WSE 2026 in Riga will offer an opportunity to meet researchers from across Northern Europe and beyond, share the latest results, and establish new collaborations in wood science and engineering. We encourage the submission of abstracts and invite participants to become part of the conference programme,” says conference organiser PhD Edgars Kuka at the LSIWC.
Detailed information about the event – including key dates, conference themes, abstract submission guidelines and other practical matters – is available on the official conference website.
Researchers, academic staff and industry professionals are warmly invited to submit their abstracts and contribute to the scientific programme of WSE 2026.
