Baltic research programme conference in Vilnius
On November 19-20, our colleagues Ance Pļavniece and Aivars Žūriņš participated in the conference “THE BALTIC RESEARCH PROGRAMME – A UNIQUE SUCCESS STORY OF REGIONAL COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH”, which was held in Vilnius by the Lithuanian Research Council.
The conference presented success stories from the last Baltic Research Programme - research projects on a variety of topics. In 2021-2023 the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry implemented the project "Sustainably produced nanomaterials for energy applications (SuNaMa)", which aimed to develop innovative, high performance, high conductivity, electrocatalytically active, durable, cost-effective and large surface area nanocarbon materials. These materials are potential candidates for use in low-carbon energy technologies such as supercapacitors, metal-air batteries and fuel cells. The SuNaMa project was led by the Lithuanian National Institute of Physical Science and Technology, with the following partners - Estonian National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics, Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, and the Norway reserach organisaton SINTEF.
The project summary is available in this video
The Baltic Research Programme is a joint research program of three Baltic States: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, funded from the funds of financial mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) States (Iceland and Liechtenstein) and Norway.
