Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry announces an auction of intellectual property "Technology of ROPET polyols synthesised from renewable and recycled resources"

Within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) research results commercialisation project No 1.2.1.2/16/I/001/ KC-PI-2020/49 "Commercialisation of Rapeseed Oil and Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate Polyols Synthesis (ROPET)", scientists of the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry (LSIWC) have developed the technology of ROPET polyols synthesised from renewable and recycled resources, and are currently offering to purchase a licence to use this technology.

Object of commercialisation: The right to use the technology for ROPET polyols synthesised from renewable and recycled resources.

Developed by: LSIWC Polymer Laboratory

Information for interested parties:

The interested party is invited to participate in the auction by making an offer for the purchase of the technology.

The successful bidder will be the bidder with the highest bid for the auctioned item.

The auction object:

ROPET

Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry has developed a polyol synthesis technology ROPET. ROPET provides technology for acquiring environmentally friendly polyols from renewable resources and recycled materials. ROPET is produced from recycled PET and bio-based feedstock – rapeseed oil. ROPET is a recycled and renewable content polyol series, which is a key component in polyurethane foams - insulation material in panels, heating pipes and spray foam for building insulation. ROPET offers material based on recycled resources, possessing good properties as a base polyol for rigid polyurethane foam insulation. ROPET can reach a competitive price target compared to petrochemical-derived polyols with similar properties.

Detailed information on the auction object is available online: http://kki.lv/komercializesanas-objekts-no-atjaunojamiem-un-otrreiz-parstradatiem-resursiem-sintezeto-ropet

The bidding application must be submitted in the form of an electronic document, signed with a secure electronic signature by 31 October 2022 at 09:00 and sent to the e-mail address kki@kki.lv, with the subject line “Bid for the tender 'ROPET polyol technology synthesised from renewable and recycled resources”.

Time and place of opening of bids: 31 October 2022 at 10:30, 27 Dzerbenes iela 27, Riga, Room 227.

The negotiation procedure for granting the right to use intellectual property objects at the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry is carried out to ensure the successful commercialisation of intellectual property generated within the projects, as stipulated by the Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No 692 of 25 October 2016 "Rules for the Implementation of Measure 1.2.1.2 "Support for Improvement of the Technology Transfer System" of the Specific Support Objective 1.2.1 "Increase Private Sector Investment in R&D" of the Operational Programme "Growth and Employment""".
